Wright Middle School STEAM Magnet is one of four schools awarded a Magnet Schools Assistance Program grant in 2013 by the Department of Education. The three-year grant supports the development of programs that promote Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM).

STEAM Magnet Schools: Support differentiated theme-based instruction that will provide access to critical thinking Improve instruction in academic subjects for all students and prepare them to become competitive innovators Cultivate 21st century critical-thinking learners who master cognitive/concrete and creative/ abstract talents Encourage creativity and innovation The school’s implementation of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) prepares students with real-world critical thinking skills required for success in college and beyond. Although the school provides differentiated instruction to all students regardless of their gifted identification, students in Wright’s GATE gifted/Honors program are offered a more rigorous set of goals
